I often remind people that there will be no possibility of development after death. Development can happen only before death. After death, there is standstill. Your development will stop at death.
This is indeed very dangerous. If in this world a person is told that his job will earn him only 10,000 per month, and beyond that he will not get anything, he will never have peace. Because a person wants to increase his development everyday. Human nature desires development on a daily basis. A person wants to advance regularly. If a person is told that he would neither be promoted in his job nor get any other job, he would feel as if he were in prison. The hope that 'I will be promoted in future and get better jobs',
keeps a person alive in both job and business. It is very dangerous to deny one's own nature. We are heading toward death and after it, we will come to a standstill. You should develop yourself as much as you can. If you are short in developing yourself by even 1%, this lacking will remain forever. You will not be able to develop again. A person is raised in the state in which he dies. You will have to lead life after death at the same level of intellectual development as you had before death. You will not get anything further.
This is why the Quran speaking about "adding faith to faith" (48:4). This is called increase of faith. According to a hadith: "Faith increases and decreases." (Sunan Ibn Majah 74)
Faith keeps growing. God has given you an entire universe for your growth. An iceberg extends to 7-10 miles. But you can grow up to millions and millions of miles. An iceberg can grow from 7 up to 10 miles. Icebergs are of the height of 10 story buildings or 100 story buildings. But still an iceberg has its limitations. A human being has no limitations.
